The States are asked to decide:-
Whether they are of the opinion to approve the draft Ordinance entitled "The Supplementary Benefit (Implementation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2016", and to direct that the same shall have effect as an Ordinance of the States.
This proposition has been submitted to Her Majesty's Procureur for advice on any legal or constitutional implications in accordance with Rule 4(1) of the Rules of Procedure of the States of Deliberation and their Committees.
EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
Section 1(2) of this Ordinance amends the Supplementary Benefit (Implementation) Ordinance, 1971 to increase the period within which the Registrar for appeals against determinations under the Supplementary Benefit (Guernsey) Law, 1971 shall furnish a copy of any notice of appeal to the Administrator from seven days to twenty-eight days.
The other provisions of the Ordinance amend rates of supplementary benefit under the Supplementary Benefit (Guernsey) Law, 1971 with effect on 6th January, 2017.
