The President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture has moved to reassure Alderney residents that there are no plans to change education provision at St Anne's School.
'We are absolutely committed to retaining an all-age 4 to 16 school in Alderney as we highlight in our proposals document,' said Deputy Paul Le Pelley.
'I understand that there are some misunderstandings circulating that we are proposing to remove secondary education from St Anne's. This is simply not the case. We are holding a meeting in Alderney next Wednesday to outline our proposals for the Future Structure of Secondary and Post-16 Education and what they will mean for pupils at St Anne's. We welcome the views of the community on the future of education in the Island and all members of the community are welcome to attend.'
The meeting is at St Anne's School at 5.30pm on Wednesday 19th July. The Committee's plans and a range of supporting information can be found online at www.gov.gg/educationfuture
