Tuesday 31 July 2018

The first quarterly cash prize draw to reward households taking part in the Household Expenditure Survey will be drawn tomorrow [Wednesday 1st August].

One lucky winner will receive the top prize of £500, with the runner up winning £250.

There are a further three cash prize draws; on 1st November 2018, and on 1st February and 1st May 2019. There is still time to sign up to the survey for a chance to win or to receive a £25 Randall's restaurants voucher.

So far 160 households have taken part. The aim is get at least 1,000 households to complete the survey during the 12-month window to May 2019. Looking at the households who have completed the survey so far, it is on target to reach a representative sample in terms of demographic profile. The oldest respondent so far has been 87 years of age with the youngest 'main shopper' to date being 23.

What's involved in the survey?

One of our team of fieldworkers will make an appointment to visit you and help you complete the initial questionnaire, which covers regular household payments and other large purchases. Household members will then all be asked to keep a record of everything that they buy in shops or online over the following two weeks.
