The Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Longue Hougue is open 6 days a week, including Saturday and Sunday, and accepts a whole range of different materials for reuse or recycling, free of charge.
Everything from electrical items, household batteries and domestic appliances, to old bicycles, rubble and rigid plastic items.
Blue and clear recycling bags can also be taken to the facility, and general waste is accepted for a charge of £2.50 per black bag (or equivalent).
Please see below for a list of materials that are accepted at Longue Hougue. For a more detailed list of other potentially recyclable items, and what can go where, go to the downloads section on this page.
Improvements for 2019
The site currently occupies a temporary location, while a brand new, purpose-built facility is being constructed nearby. When the new centre opens in early 2019, it will be a major improvement to the current site, with hard surfaced areas throughout and drop off facilities for all main household recyclables.
|Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday||8am - 4pm|
|Friday||8am - 4pm|
|Saturday||8am - 4pm|
|Sunday||8am - 12pm|
