Tuesday 19 March 2019
Three of Guernsey's historic attractions open for the 2019 season this Friday, and the first noonday gun of the season will again boom out over the harbour.
Castle Cornet will be open from 10am to 5pm daily, with guided tours taking place at 10.30am. The shop and café will also be open, as will four of its museums. The Maritime Museum will remain closed this year so that its roof can be replaced.
Fort Grey will be open from 10am to 4.30pm daily, and during the same hours visitors can also see the timbers from the Roman ship known as 'Asterix' across at Guernsey Pearl.
The German Naval Signals Headquarters in St Jacques will re-open for visits every afternoon from 12.30 to 4.30pm. It saw a sharp increase in visitors during 2018 and it is hoped that interest in the site will continue to grow.
Admission rates for all Guernsey Museum attractions are published on its website and in the Museums & Castles brochure available from tourist information racks. Discovery Pass holders and accompanying Children are admitted free to all sites.
