Following the voluntary surrender of one of the four 'Accessible Taxi' licences, Driver and Vehicle Licensing (DVL) would like to hear from anyone interesting in applying to operate the licence.
Applicants should be the existing holder of a Public Service Vehicle Permit (or be willing to immediately apply for one). The vehicle used to operate the service will need to be fully wheelchair accessible and meet DVL's strict criteria with regard to mandatory specifications.
The applicant will need to be willing to attend a training course with regard to the carriage and wellbeing of disabled persons.
The successful applicant will be selected based on how well they score in relation to the following criteria:
- The quality of marketing plan or proposals submitted.
- Any experience in assisting or caring for persons with a disability.
- Any proposals for additional or imaginative ways in which an applicant can demonstrate that the service will be helpful for persons with a disability.
- The hours and number of days that they propose to have the vehicle available.
Further information and an application form can be obtained from Jonathan Guilbert, DVL's Senior Passenger Transport Officer, email@example.com, Tel. 202228.
The closing date for applications to be received is Tuesday 18th June 2019.
