Careers Advisers from Careers Guernsey are available over the summer to support school & college leavers with their options and next steps.
Leavers can meet with a Careers Adviser to talk through their options for education, training or employment.
"Exam results time is such a mix of emotions for students and so it is helpful to talk through all of their options with a qualified Careers Adviser before making any decisions, particularly if they are worried that their plans may have to change. A Careers Adviser can help provide reassurance and advice about new options or pathways which may not have been considered yet, to help them work towards their goal", says Head of Careers, Sarah Stonebridge.
Careers Advisers have already started contacting school and college leavers as part of the ongoing support available.
Sarah added: "It is encouraging to find many school or college leavers in employment or training already and a high percentage who have applied to continue in education. This helps us focus our support on those young people who still need help with sorting out their next step".
Anyone who is expecting or already has GCSE, A level, IB, BTEC and other vocational exam results and needs some help with their plans are encouraged to get in touch with a Careers Adviser on Tel: 706565 or careersguernsey@gov.gg. Parents/Guardians are also invited to get in touch for information and advice as they support their son/daughter with decisions.
Leavers can also log on to www.careers.gg to find out more about their options.
