Consultation period extended for Pointues Rocques planning application until 4th October

Tuesday 20 August 2019

In March 2019, the Development & Planning Authority approved a Development Framework for the Pointues Rocques site, which was allocated for housing as part of the Island Development Plan process.

The Development Framework was revised twice following feedback from members of the public.

A planning application for a proposed residential development was received by the Development & Planning Authority on Thursday 15th August 2019. As required by the Land Planning and Development (General Provisions) Ordinance, 2007, a site notice must be displayed at the site for a minimum of 21 days, to inform the community of the proposed plans.

Following a request from the Constables and Douzaine of St Sampson, the consultation period for the current application on the Pointues Rocques housing site has been extended until Friday 4th October 2019. This request was made because a meeting of the Constables and Douzaine of St Sampson was unable to be held within the original consultation period and therefore, their representation could not be finalised. The decision was made by the Development & Planning Authority in line with sections 6 and 7 of the Charter between the States of Guernsey and the Parish Douzaine, which states that Douzaines will be given "sufficient information to enable them to reach an informed view on the matter, and give them adequate time to respond."

Any representations made on or by 4th October will be considered by the Authority - this applies to representations made by members of the public as well as the Douzaine, provided that they relate to planning matters. The planning website (https://bit.ly/2KFlCQK) has been updated to reflect this decision.

The decision on this planning application will be made at an Open Planning Meeting. Details of when this will take place will be published online at www.gov.gg/opm.
