A review of the current provision available for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) has been temporarily postponed due to concerns about the current global coronavirus pandemic.
The review, which began last month, has been commissioned in partnership with the National Association of Special Educational Needs (NASEN).
The latest travel restrictions requiring anyone arriving into the Bailiwick to self-isolate for 14 days means it is impossible for NASEN to carry out all their on-island activities with immediate effect.
Nick Hynes, Head of Inclusion and Services for Children & Schools, said:
'After liaising closely with NASEN, we agreed to resume activities later in the academic year, hopefully from September 2020. Once the future dates have been confirmed, Education staff will contact all colleagues and stakeholders to update them as soon as dates have been agreed.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported the SEND review so far and apologise for any inconvenience this has unavoidable delay causes.'
