Changes to public bus services effective from Saturday 28th March

Thursday 26 March 2020

A 'Sunday' bus service will be operated this coming Saturday, 28th March.

A normal 'Sunday' service will operate on Sunday 29th March and a 'Saturday' service will operate as from Monday 30th March.

The decision is in response to the latest Public Health guidance discouraging all non-essential journeys during the current outbreak of COVID-19 and reflects a very significant drop off in passengers using scheduled bus services.

It is appreciated that this change in service provision might cause inconvenience for some passengers. Accordingly, the decision has been made to announce the changes today in order to enable anyone planning to use the scheduled bus service on Saturday or from next Monday to review their transport arrangements now.

The public are reminded that cash fares are no longer accepted on scheduled bus services but that contactless payment facilities are available on all buses. For those that do not have access to contactless, Pay as You Go (PAYG) 'orange' puffin passes will be available at a cost of £5.

Please view the relevant Saturday or Sunday services as detailed in the published timetable or available at http://buses.gg/routes_and_times/timetable_2020 to see how they apply to Weekday and Saturday services respectively from 28th March.

The provision of bus services will continue to be reviewed over the coming days and any further service alterations will be notified in due course.

Traffic and Highway Services wishes to thank CT Plus and its drivers for the sterling work that they are doing on behalf of the community at this difficult time and to thank the public for their understanding.
