Planning and Building Control Services - arrangements from Monday 22 June

Tuesday 16 June 2020

In response to the restrictions brought about by COVID-19, most Planning and Building Control services are now available on-line.

As a result of this, an appointment system will now operate for customers visiting the Planning Service at Sir Charles Frossard House, from Monday 22 June 2020, for customers unable to access the service they require either online or by telephone.

The Planning Service may still be contacted by post, however email remains the preferred method of communication to ensure that enquiries can be quickly directed to, and dealt with by, the relevant officer, who may be working from home.

For advice on your proposal before submitting a formal application please complete and return a pre-application enquiry form which can be downloaded here.

Guidance explaining the pre-application enquiry process and help with completing the form can be found here.

For information concerning current planning applications please visit www.gov.gg/liveplanningapplications where details of the applications can be viewed, including submitted plans and other information. A list of live planning applications will continue to be published in the Guernsey Press.

The Planning Service also publishes details of all planning decisions reached on line at www.gov.gg/planning.

Payments for applications may be made by cheque or BACS. Payments can also be made from 22 June by credit or debit card at the Customer Counter on Level 3 at Edward T Wheadon House, Le Truchot. A receipt should be obtained by customers to add to their application. Card or cash payments cannot be made at Sir Charles Frossard House.

The Planning Service is working hard to process new applications, however some delays are being experienced at the validation stage as we emerge from lockdown. Customers are asked to please be patient before contacting us to check on progress with their new applications and we thank them for their understanding and support.

For more information on how services will be delivered please contact the Planning Service at planning@gov.gg. If you are unable to access our services online, please telephone 01481 717200 between 9am-4pm Monday to Friday for assistance.
