The Committee for Economic Development announces Vice President and the Committee's Political Leads

Following on from the recent announcement by the Committee for Economic Development that Deputy Steve Falla has been elected as Vice President, the Committee is also pleased to confirm the areas where other Committee members will act in lead roles.

Deputy Neil Inder, President of the Committee for Economic Development commented:

"Deputy Steve Falla has had a long and successful career in business and I am sure will be a very capable Vice-President. Deputy Falla will also lead the Committee's liaison with business bodies in his role as the Committee's political lead for Business to Government."

"Deputy Nick Moakes will provide leadership on the Committee's work with the finance sector, ensuring that we understand the opportunities for growth that need government action."

"Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller will lead on digital business, entrepreneurship and skills, working closely with the Digital Greenhouse and other partners to promote entrepreneurship and to transform our skills base on the island."

"Deputy Simon Vermeulen will lead the Committee's work on tourism and industry and will work closely with the Committee's President on the recovery of our visitor economy. Deputy Vermeulen will lead the Committee's work in relation to the tourism, retail, construction and manufacturing sectors."

The Committee for Economic Development is also seeking expressions of interest to appoint up to two non-States members, and is particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience from the finance sector. The Committee will be working with the Guernsey International Business Association to invite nominations.
