Coastal defence works to take place between Catioroc and Perelle and at Grand Port

Friday 21 May 2021

As part of the annual programme of works to strengthen Guernsey's sea defences, maintenance and repair works on the wall from Catioroc to Perelle will be commencing on Monday 24 May.

The works scheduled will address the areas requiring attention ahead of the next winter season, with further, more comprehensive maintenance and repair programmed for later in the year and through to 2022.

Traffic management will be kept to a minimum, using temporary traffic lights where works are on the roadside and for installation of scaffold.  A small compound shall be formed in the car park at Catioroc Headland.

These works will take in the region of one month to complete, following which the contractor will move onto the next sea defence scheduled for maintenance and repair: the seawall at Grand Port.

The works at Grand Port will span the duration of the summer and into autumn to be completed ahead of the winter.

Further details about the Grand Port works will be released before they commence, along with information about how the works may impact nearby roads and/or parking.
