BA CityFlyer launches connections to London City and Edinburgh

Thursday 01 July 2021

BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of British Airways, will begin operating services to Guernsey from London City and Edinburgh from Friday 2 July.

Direct flights to and from both UK airports will operate on Mondays and Fridays throughout the summer until 27th September 2021.

Guernsey Ports chief operating officer Ross Coppolo said the new services were a gateway to South East England and Scotland, and would provide excellent connections to other destinations as COVID-19 restrictions eased.

"London City offers passengers good connections to the BA CityFlyer network, with services from there to many popular European destinations. We are also delighted with the return of the direct Edinburgh link, which prior to COVID-19, proved popular with islanders as well as passengers from Scotland wanting to visit the Bailiwick."

Guernsey Ports' business plan is prioritising work with operators to restore the island's air connectivity, to help rebuild passenger numbers and visitors in the immediate post COVID-19 recovery period.

Tom Stoddart, Managing Director of BA CityFlyer, said: "We're confident our new route from London City Airport to Guernsey will be popular this summer with customers looking for a UK getaway. And, it's an honour to be launching the only direct service between Guernsey and Edinburgh this summer."

BA CityFlyer will use their Embraer-190SR aircraft on both routes. Seats can be purchased from British Airways' website: https://www.britishairways.com/.
