Tuesday 19 October 2021

For the first time at Guernsey Museum, October half term is a week of two halves.

The first part of the week It's a Viking Thing is themed around the current exhibition, Heroes of the Viking World.  The mood changes for Saturday and Sunday, when The Haunted Museum takes place.  The Museum is open 10.00-17.00 and activities are self-hosted and run all day.

It's a Viking Thing takes place from Monday 25 - Friday 29 October and will feature a different Viking craft every day in the Discovery Room, a trail around the current exhibition and a different Viking-themed family film in the Theatre each day at 10.30 (and repeated at 14.00).

The fun continues with The Haunted Museum on Saturday 30 & Sunday 31 October.  Fancy dress is encouraged on these days and free entry will be awarded to visitors dressed in FULL spooky attire (and approved by the 'gatekeeper').  During the weekend there will also be some spooky stories and music in the Art Gallery, crafts in the Discovery Room and trails in the Folklore Gallery.  Visitors can enjoy different spooky-themed family films at 10.30 & 14.00 each day in the Theatre.

To enjoy a film, visitors do not need to book a seat and there is no obligation to stay for the whole film.  Visitors are welcome to turn up and see what's on but if you would like to know beforehand, you can call the museum on 226518 or join the private group on Facebook 'Guernsey Museum Films', where the titles will be announced.

Normal admission applies and it's free entry with your Discovery Pass.
