East Arm testing facility to open on Bank Holiday Monday (27 December) for patients that test positive with a Lateral Flow device between now and Monday

Friday 24 December 2021

A drop-in testing clinic will be run at the East Arm facility on Bank Holiday Monday (27 December) for patients that test positive with a lateral flow device between now and Monday.

This clinic is being put on to help manage demand for anyone who is LFT positive in the next two days. No resulting will take place on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.  This drop-in session will significantly reduce the pressure on the hospital testing facility.

This clinic is specifically for anyone who has tested positive on a lateral flow device and is aged 12 or over. These patients do not need to phone in advance or book a time, they simply need to complete the form here: https://localtesting.gov.gg/ before arriving at the East Arm testing facility. They must bring their positive lateral flow with them in a sealed plastic bag and a smart device (phone or tablet).

A self-swab PCR test will then be supervised by a member of the Welcome Team using the Local Test version of Travel Tracker. Those patients will then receive their PCR result in the normal way, by text if it is a negative result, or by way of a phone call from Public Health if their PCR test is positive.

Families with Children under 12 or children under 12

Families with children under the age of 12 and/or children under 12 cannot attend the East Arm and must fill in the online form at PCR Referral Form - States of Guernsey (gov.gg) or contact the clinical helpline on 01481 220001 or 01481 220002 to book an appointment time to attend the drive-through testing clinic located in the hospital grounds. Please do not turn up without an allocated time as no drop-in clinics are held at PEH.

The East Arm facility is unable to accommodate anyone on foot or a bicycle. If you have had a positive LFT and are unable to drive to the East Arm please register for a PCR test online at PCR Referral Form - States of Guernsey (gov.gg) or call the clinical helpline. The Scheduling team will then contact you to discuss testing options with you.

If you arrive at the East Arm and see long queues please be understanding, as you might have a wait or alternatively return to the East Arm later. Please do not leave it until the last minute.

Anyone who is experiencing symptoms but who has not had a lateral flow positive must register for a PCR test online at PCR Referral Form - States of Guernsey (gov.gg) or call the clinical helpline who will schedule a PCR test for them at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital testing facility.
