A job advert has been published today for a new Head of the Public Service.
The Policy & Resources Committee is seeking a highly credible leader who will be accountable for the safe, effective and efficient provision of public services. The role is the most senior officer of the States of Guernsey, which has a workforce of approximately five thousand employees. The post holder is also responsible for ensuring that the States' Assembly and its Committees have access to high quality objective advice, support and expertise to discharge their responsibilities and duties.
The creation of the Head of the Public Service role follows work carried out by the Committee to review the previous Chief Executive position, its requirements and responsibilities.

The Head of the Public Service will need to quickly establish a clear vision and direction for the organisation, which incorporates both individual and collective accountabilities within our politically-led environment.
