Islanders are being reminded of the current guidance around taking a lateral flow test before visiting someone vulnerable, in response to the recent increase in COVID-19 case numbers.
We continue to ask people to take an LFT if they are attending an in-patient health setting in Guernsey and Alderney or any care home. If you have signs and symptoms of Covid 19, however mild you must not attend an in-patient health setting.
LFTs continue to be available for islanders free-of-charge and can be collected from the Guernsey Information Centre and Beau Sejour.
No change has been made to the guidance on the use of LFTs, which continues to advise that LFTs should be used in the following circumstances:
- If you are symptomatic (if the test is negative, please repeat after 24 hours)
- If you are health and care worker and a household contact of a positive cases (LFT on Day 1 and thereafter only if symptomatic). Non-household contacts and people who are household contacts but not health and care workers do not need to test unless symptomatic
- If you are visiting someone in hospital or a Care Home (do not visit if you are unwell or symptomatic)
