The States of Guernsey is moving towards a business-as-usual position following disruption to IT systems this week caused by the failure of air-conditioning systems in the main server room.
The issues experienced in schools, where internet access through WiFi has not been possible since Friday, has now been rectified. All public-facing online services are fully operational.
While systems are now back online, staff in some areas are working hard to clear backlogs caused by the system outage. We thank customers and services users for their patience should there being any delays to provision.
The failure of air conditioning systems in the server room on Friday caused the temperature to quickly rise, resulting in the server going into 'preservation mode' to ensure data was protected. The forced shutdown successfully protected the server itself and safeguarded all data held by the States of Guernsey, however it did cause significant performance issues across the States IT network.
