Christmas at Candie

Tuesday 20 December 2022

Guernsey Museum at Candie will be open this festive season, with two exhibitions running to the end of the year.

It will be the final chance to see FloodZone by Anastasia Samoylova.  This captivating exhibition is in partnership with the Guernsey Photography Festival and focuses on the impact of climate change and rising sea levels in Miami.  In the greenhouse gallery, visitors can enjoy paintings of local scenes in Shore, Lines and Brush Marks by Rosanne Guille and Deborah Grice.

In the Discovery Room, the Wonder Room Timewarp will also remain open until the end of the month.

The Museum shop is well-stocked with Christmas goodies and Discovery Pass holders receive a 10% off their purchases. The shop is also selling Discovery Passes as Christmas gifts. The cost is exceptionally good value: £20 per adult covers free entry to Castle Cornet, Guernsey Museum at Candie, Fort Grey, and the German Naval Signals HQ for a year from purchase. Accompanying children also get in free too.

From 21 - 24 December, there will be festive family films showing at 10.30am. The titles are not advertised publicly but if you wish to find out what's on, please call 226518 or join the Facebook group 'Guernsey Museum Films'. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult but there is no need to book. These are child-friendly screenings, so please expect people to pop in and out during the film.

The Museum is closed from 1 January 2023 and reopens on Friday 27 January 2023 with new things to see.  This will include a new Timewarp themed around Moulin Huet during the time of Renoir's visit to Guernsey.
