Environment Department response to media enquiry from BBC Radio Guernsey.
Enquiry:
We're hearing that there have been a few complaints to the Environment Department about some of the candidates' signs that have gone up.
I was wondering if you might be able to find out exactly how many there have been to date and let us know?
We are aware that planning rules are relaxed for campaign paraphernalia but we'd quite like to know the numbers of complaints all the same.
Response:
There has been one enquiry from a member of the public but no complaints have been received. There is an exemption for election signs under the Land Planning and Development (Exemptions) Ordinance, 2007.
