Beau Sejour Leisure Centre's dedicated team has once again been rewarded for its efforts, achieving runner-up in the 2019 National Quest awards, placing second in the Top Performing Facility Managed Centre category.
With the Awards taking place earlier this year in February, just prior to Lockdown, it is only now the Centre team has been able to celebrate its success.
Quest is the Sport England recommended "continuous improvement tool" for leisure facilities, and is designed to measure how effective leisure and sports facilities and organisations are at providing customer service - delving into how well a facility is operating. It looks at the operation of the business (such as maintenance, cleaning and health and safety) the people (such as customer experience and the team dynamics) and the purpose (such as how the facility plans to improve, and how it engages with the community surrounding it).
Overall - there were 633 Facility Managed Quest sites in 2019, making this achievement for Beau Sejour Leisure Centre all the more special.
Sam Herridge, Head of Recreation Services, said:
"I'm honoured to be part of such a passionate and enthusiastic team who refuse to accept mediocrity - but instead strive to improve continuously for the benefit of our community. 2020 has been a difficult year for our industry overall - but the team here at Beau Sejour and at our other outdoor sites have really risen to the challenge. All the team within Recreation Services have worked extremely hard to gain this national award, which is a ringing endorsement of how well Beau Sejour Leisure Centre and its surrounding grounds is being operated. It also demonstrates how committed all the team are in providing a quality and valued service for all our customers."
With the current Quest accreditation scheme being placed 'on hold' while the pandemic continues and border restrictions remain in place; Beau Sejour Leisure Centre continues to be one of the few leisure facilities in the British Isles, to be open to the general public without any additional measures in place, such as social distancing or limitations on types of activities.
But the Centre is keen not to rest on its laurels. Quest is a continuous improvement process, and the team at Beau Sejour will not be standing still - ensuring improvements are made to make sure customer driven services continue to be delivered to a most 'Excellent' standard.
