New bus shelter being installed at Pembroke as part of ongoing improvements

Monday 19 June 2023

Traffic and Highway Services is installing a new bus shelter at Pembroke as part of ongoing improvements to the island's bus infrastructure.

A shelter at this location has been prioritised due to its regular use, particularly in the summer, given its proximity to the beach.

Installing shelters makes travelling by bus a more viable transport option, providing seating and protection from adverse weather, whilst also providing islanders with relevant bus information.

This follows the recent installation of other bus shelters in St Martin's and St Andrew's.

This work is carried out in line with the objective of the Integrated Transport Strategy to increase the number of journeys made by alternative forms of transport.
