Changes to parking time limits in town for the festive period

Wednesday 22 November 2023

As Christmas approaches, some parking time limits in town will be changing once again to make it easier for islanders to enjoy the festivities in St Peter Port and support local businesses.

From Saturday 25th November 2023 until Tuesday 2nd January 2024 inclusive, a number of two-hour parking spaces will be extended to three-hours.

At North Beach, all two-hour parking in the centre section (114 spaces) will change to three-hour.

The three-hour limits will also apply to spaces at Albert (156 spaces) and Crown (98 spaces) Piers, other than those designated as long-term small car parking.

The three-hour parking spaces on the Havelet Bay side of the Model Yacht Pond (19 spaces), will be changed to 10-hour parking to increase capacity for those working in town until Tuesday 2nd January.

On St Julians Emplacement (between Cambridge Berth and Trident Kiosk), there will also be 44 spaces available for late-night shopping on Thursday evenings between 5pm and 10pm on 30th November, 7th, 14th and 21st December 2023.  These spaces will also be available on all the remaining weekends of the year.

Members of the public will also be able to park at both Sir Charles Frossard House and Lukis House on remaining Saturdays in November and all of December. In addition, these car parks will be available for late-night shopping on Thursdays between 6pm and 10pm on 30th November, 7th, 14th and 21st December 2023.

Furthermore, the 10-hour spaces at North Beach will also be de-regulated on the remaining Saturdays of the year, meaning those who are driving will not be required to move their vehicle by 8am if they have parked overnight on the Friday.

The "S" bus services which normally operate at 8.35pm will be delayed until 9pm on the late-night shopping evenings. These routes are the "S1" to the North of the island, the "S2" to the coast, the "S3" to the West of the island and the "S4" to the North of the island.  Further details will be available online from www.buses.gg or by emailing information@buses.gg.

The Petit Train will also be offering a free Park 'n' Ride service from 6pm until 9pm on the late-night shopping evenings operating between Sir Charles Frossard House and Stand A (Picquet House) at the bus terminus.
