Changes to public bus services effective from Saturday 20th June

Friday 19 June 2020

With the implementation of Phase 5 of Guernsey's exit from lockdown there will be further changes to the bus services from Saturday 20th June 2020.

The 'enhanced Saturday' bus service, which was implemented on Monday 8th June, will continue to operate Monday - Friday and buses will be able to load passengers to full capacity once again.

Weekend services will be operating as normal, with the exception of the published additional summer services that were due to operate between 11th April and 12th October. These summer services will also not be operating on week days.

The nightbus will operate once again on Fridays and Saturdays, although please note that it will not be available on Friday 19th June as Phase 5 does not come into effect until Saturday 20th June.

With effect from Monday, 22nd June, school bus services for all mainstream States' schools will operate as per the routes and times published under the School Buses section of www.gov.gg/buses, subject to any road closures or diversions. Buses will be able to load passengers to full capacity and therefore places on these services do not need to be requested in advance. Students using a scheduled service bus operated by CT Plus are requested to use their puffin pass to board.

Active travel methods such as walking or cycling are still encouraged to continue wherever possible.

Every effort has been made to ensure that an adequate number of services are provided at commuter times. If you have questions about your journey please call CT Plus on 01481 700456 for advice.

Passengers should note that, for the time being, contactless payments should continue to be made on scheduled bus services and that cash fares will not be accepted. For those that do not have access to contactless, Pay as You Go (PAYG) 'orange' puffin passes are available at a cost of £5. These are available to purchase on board buses and from the kiosk. Cash payments can however be processed at the Town Terminus Shop.

The provision of bus services and monitoring of passenger numbers will continue to be reviewed over the coming weeks to ensure customer needs are being met. Traffic and Highway Services wishes to thank all the scheduled and school bus operators, their drivers and the general public for their continued support.

Information regarding these changes have been displayed inside all service buses and the new timetable can be viewed here.
