Alderney Air Services - Memorandum of Understanding

Representatives of the States of Guernsey, the States of Alderney and Aurigny have met for their scheduled quarterly review of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that they collectively agreed and introduced earlier this year for the operation of air services between Alderney, Guernsey and Southampton.

GCSE and Level 2 results 2016

The Bailiwick's 16 year olds have delivered another good year of GCSE and Level 2 results. Overall 62.1 % of students achieved five or more GCSEs or Level 2 equivalent qualifications including English and Maths at grade C or above. This compares with last year's figure of 57.4% of students achieving the so called 'gold standard'.

Safety Improvements planned for cycle and pedestrian paths at Salerie entrance

Cyclist and pedestrian safety at the Salerie Car Park entrance will be improved if plans are approved for a pedestrian and cyclist crossing. There will be a raised platform set back from the entrance with cyclist and pedestrians having priority over motorists.

Post 16 and Lifelong Learning

Currently around 87% of 16 years olds are opting to stay in full-time education or training with around 24% of the Island's 18 year olds then choosing to go on to university. The Committee for Education, Sport and Culture is responsible for the Island's public provision of education and training. A key element of our strategy is to promote Lifelong Learning.
