On Tuesday, the States of Guernsey are holding a meet and greet event at Beau Sejour to talk about the variety of current vacancies the organisation has across its different sectors. It will be taking place between 09:00 and 12:00 in the Leisure Centre's Concourse.
Staff from relevant service areas will be in attendance to meet and help attendees with any questions they might have.
The States of Guernsey currently has open vacancies across Health & Social Care, States Works, Home Affairs, Education, Sport & Culture and more. HR will be present at the event to also guide attendees through what applying for a job with and working for the States is like.
Attendees are encouraged to contact Georgina Tapp (Georgina.Tapp@gov.gg) with their CV before coming. People could also bring paper copies of their CV, to help staff match them to roles that may fit with their experience.
Anita Gaudion, Head of HR & OD, said:
"The States of Guernsey employs people in our community across a huge range of different sectors. From working at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, to Customer Service roles, to working in schools or at the Guernsey Dairy. As the island's largest employer, we really do have roles for everyone. This event is open to anyone; however following the sad news regarding Intersurgical's closure earlier this week, we wanted to ensure that we are being as accessible as possible for people looking for a new job. We currently have many rewarding and interesting job opportunities available with a mix of both full and part time hours. We are keen to talk about all the opportunities those roles present."
Interest in this event has already been very high, and staff are looking at arranging a repeat event on a weekend or evening if there is demand for it.
