Traffic consultations webpage launched for improved transparency

Tuesday 08 August 2023

Traffic and Highway Services has launched a new consultation webpage at gov.gg/trafficconsultations to make it easier for members of the public to see and comment on proposed changes to public highways.

These changes may include, but are not limited to, changes to parking, road layouts, road prohibitions, public transport, road safety improvements or fee changes.

Previously, the only way to see the information about proposals was by reading the site notice at the location of the proposed works or through a notice which gets published in La Gazette.

Phil Ogier, Manager - Roads & Traffic Management, said:

"This is a simple step to improve transparency when we're proposing changes to our highways. The more people that engage with us in this way, the better informed we should be about the impact of changes before any decisions are taken, and the less surprise there will be when works are carried out."

When there are proposals available for consultation, members of the community are encouraged to comment on proposals which must be submitted in writing either by email as specified within the consultation notice, or by letter which can be hand delivered or posted to Traffic and Highway Services, Edward T. Wheadon House, Le Truchot, St Peter Port, GY1 3WH.
