The new Committee for Health & Social Care has held its first formal Committee meeting and has elected Deputy Tina Bury as Vice-President.
Deputy Al Brouard, President of the Committee for Health & Social Care, said:
'We had a really positive first meeting and we're all looking forward to building upon the work of our predecessors while developing our own priorities for health and care in the Bailiwick. The Committee will bring a fresh perspective to this incredibly important area of work and Tina epitomises that new approach. I am sure she will bring a huge amount of skill, empathy and determination as we work with stakeholders, inside and outside of the States, to continue to support the health and wellbeing of islanders."
Deputy Bury added:
'I'm delighted to have been elected as Vice-President of the Committee for Health & Social Care. As soon as I was elected I had my eye on seats on both HSC and Employment & Social Security. There is significant cross-Committee working between them in areas of social policy - with plenty of room for further development - and I'm really looking forward to having responsibility for ensuring this coordination.'
