Wednesday 13 March 2013

The Scrutiny Committee is now able to announce the details of its public hearing into the non-disclosure by the Home Department of information relating to the settlement with AFR Advocates.

The public hearing will take place on Thursday 21 March 2013 in Court 6 of the Royal Court, starting at 09:30am. The terms of reference of the review are available to download, below.

The Minister for the Home Department, Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq will give evidence to a review panel chaired by Scrutiny Committee Chairman, Alderney Representative Paul Arditti.

Mr Arditti said:

"The Scrutiny Committee has committed to undertaking a swift review into the non-disclosure, by the Home Department, of information relating to the settlement with AFR Advocates. As part of this review, next week's public hearing will be an important opportunity for the Minister to explain, in public and on the record, the reasons behind the decisions taken by the Home Department in relation to this matter".

Members of the public are invited to observe but not to participate in the proceedings. Photography and/or audio or video recording is not permitted in the court buildings.
