The year long Household Expenditure Survey (HES) is approaching its conclusion. All forms will need to be submitted by Friday 12 July to be included in the fourth (and final) prize draw, which will be held in late July. The winning household will receive £2,000 and there will be 5 runner up prizes of £100 each.
The survey captures (in confidence) information on all types of expenditure, providing a detailed snapshot of Guernsey household's spending patterns, which will be used to update the inflation indices (RPI and RPIX). The results of the last HES are available via www.gov.gg/hes and are frequently referenced for research projects.
States Economist, Dr Andy Sloan said,
"Thank you to the households that have taken part in the survey. We are aware that the survey asks people to provide a lot of detail, which can be off putting, but it's the detail that makes the results so useful. "
The survey is conducted over a whole year to capture seasonal changes in spending and all types and sizes of household are invited to take part. The third prize draw for households that have completed the survey was held on 29th March 2013. One of the runner up households, the Allen Family, said:
"We were supportive of the survey and wanted to take part to make sure the perspective of households with three adults is included."
