Wednesday 12 March 2014
The children's playground in Saumarez park will be closed to the public with effect from Monday 17 March to enable decommissioning of the old equipment.
The rest of the Park will remain open as will the car park adjacent to the playground. However, please note that there may be some disruption to the car park in order to allow access for site vehicles and equipment to enter the play area from time to time.
Users of the park are requested not to enter the playground site to allow works to remove old equipment. This work is being done by the Community and Environment Projects Scheme. Waste will be minimised as much as possible with the aim of reusing serviceable equipment such as the slides and some of the swings. Other material will be recycled and what cannot be reused or recycled will be disposed of.
Plans have already been approved for the design and installation of a brand new family playground. Further information on this new playground development can be obtained from the Friends of Saumarez Park Playground LBG at friendsofsaumarezpp@cwgsy.net.
