Today we launch our campaign to encourage residents of Guernsey to sign on to the Electoral Roll ahead of the next States Election on April 27th 2016.
Every household will be receiving a registration form for the Electoral Roll. If you are over 16 and eligible to vote then together with the rest of your household you can either complete and return the form or register online at www.election2016.gg
Registration only takes only a few minutes and will mean that next April you can take your right to vote.
Mark de Garis, Registrar General of Electors, said:
"I want to encourage all eligible voters to register, it only takes a few minutes to do this on line or fill in the form that comes through your letterbox. It's your right to have a vote. We have a diverse community with different views and it's important that this diversity is represented. This can only happen if everyone is involved in selecting their elected representatives."
The campaign, to encourage voting, is focused upon the diversity of our community. Well known members of the community have lent their faces to the campaign.
Everyone over the age of 16 has the right to vote and we want to encourage as many islanders as possible to do so. It's really important everyone has a voice and an official stake and involvement in the running of the island. We encourage you to register online and make sure you have the right to choose a candidate to represent you in next April's election.
