Friday 15 March 2024

Some of Guernsey's most culturally significant sites will open for the 2024 season on Wednesday 20th March.

Castle Cornet, Fort Grey and the German Naval Signals HQ will be opening as spring arrives.

The Lieutenant-Governor Lt-General Richard Cripwell CB, CBE, is set to fire the first noon-day gun of the year, and members of the public are invited to come and watch the event to usher in the new season (standard admission applies).

Helen Glencross, Head of Heritage Services, said:

"We are honoured to have the Governor firing the first noon day gun of the season at Castle Cornet. Members of the public are welcome to attend to mark the start of what will hopefully be a successful summer to come.

"We have seen a very positive start to the year at Guernsey Museum and we hope that we see that trend continue at our other sites through the summer. We are excited to have a wonderful programme of exhibitions, displays and special events across our four sites in 2024."

Attendance at all of the Guernsey Museums sites is free if you purchase a Discovery Pass; the Pass allows unlimited visits plus free entry for all accompanying children under 18.

Visitors will find children's activities at all of the locations including trails, quizzes and opportunities for dressing up.

Castle Cornet, Fort Grey and the German Naval Signals HQ will be open daily until 3rd November.
