Senior leaders are being invited to apply to join the board of the Social Investment Fund (SIF).
SIF seeks to support the financial sustainability of the Bailiwick's charitable sector targeting funding towards organisations and projects which are most needed within the Bailiwick. Since incorporation in 2020, SIF has awarded over £5.6 million towards a wide variety of charitable organisations.
The Board evaluates and approves funding applications from charitable and third sector organisations, in addition to its standard duties.
The Very Reverend Tim Barker, Chair of SIF, said:
"We are looking for someone with experience at a senior level in sectors such as banking, accounting, law, and public services, who can bring that expertise and knowledge to help us fulfil the functions of SIF. Most importantly we're looking for someone with high personal standards of integrity, with an understanding of good governance, and strong stakeholder management skills.
We are a separately constituted body, acting as a States partner, which uses public and some private funds drawn from a variety of sources. SIF helps to build greater partnership and joint working between the States and the charitable and third sector to deliver desired outcomes in an efficient and sustainable way."
Board members will be expected to commit on average two days per month. Please note, this is not a States of Guernsey position and is not remunerated.
Information about SIF, including on the development of the Fund and its current grants programmes can be found at www.sif.gg. Applications should be submitted by Monday 12th February, details on how to apply can be found at www.gov.gg/sifjobs.
If potential applicants would like to discuss the requirements of the role, please contact Tim Barker, Chair of SIF, on 07781 166095 or by email at dean@deanery.gg.
