Following on from a recent radio broadcast in which it was mentioned that HSSD undertake means testing to determine whether a child is eligible for free dental treatment, a HSSD spokesperson said:
"The Children's Dental Service will accept referrals to see any child, without means testing, who has oral health needs which fulfil specific referral criteria. The referral criteria were agreed in 2006. Referrals are accepted from appropriate Guernsey health professionals including the private dentists. The oral health needs include extensive dental decay, and severe orthodontic cases."
