Environment Department response to media enquiry from Guernsey Press on 28/01/2014.
Guernsey Press Enquiry:
I have had a call from the Press in respect of the Traffic Update they've just received about the closure of Route de Blicqs in respect of a collapsed earth bank.
They have asked for clarification on how long the road is likely to be closed, and also how this will effect bus routes. Would it be possible for someone to please clarify this this afternoon?
Environment Department Response:
The Department does not currently know how long the road will be closed for until the owner has fully assessed how much of the wall will need to be taken down to make the area safe and exactly what repairs are required. Further details will be provided as soon as they are known.
No scheduled or school bus services use this road.
We will remain closely in contact with the owner for early information.
