Media Enquiry from Ben Chapple, BBC Guernsey:
Thanks for the release - are you able to advise on the below questions:
Are you able to advise when this damage occurred - or when the department was first made aware of the damage?
If these repairs are to the damage caused around the start of February (see your release of 7 February 2014) has the other damage mentioned been repaired or are there plans for its repair:- Salerie slipway - damage to cobbled surface, Les Banques - damaged apron opposite Admiral Park and Vale Castle - minor damage to top of sea wall opposite.
Environment Department response:
The damage at Bulwer Avenue was cumulative from storms through early January to mid March. Inspections were undertaken by States Property Services Engineers after each storm and regular monitoring has continued since.
Les Banques damaged apron, no start date for works as yet.
Salerie slipway has been repaired.
Vale Castle has been repaired.
