Petit Port will be closed to the public from Monday 16 March until Friday 27 March inclusive.
This closure will allow the annual geological inspection of the cliff face by Frederick Sherrell Ltd. Any necessary scaling works and scheduled maintenance/ repair works will be undertaken by Geomarine Ltd. If there are further unscheduled repairs or works identified the Environment Department will review the situation in line with its budget allocation for coastal management but it is unlikely that any additional expenditure can be provided from the Departments budget during 2015.
Subject to the outcome of the annual inspection and no further unscheduled areas of work being identified it is intended that the steps to the bay should be re-opened to the public for the Easter holiday.
Four parking spaces will be suspended in the Petit Port car park for the duration of the works.
