What is a cyber threat?

Cyber includes but is not limited to; all forms of communications, data processing, data analytics and voice using electronic digital internet and telephony systems. Cyber security comprises potential threats not just to areas such as data and systems used by citizens, business and Government but also to the Island's critical infrastructure (which includes: communications, emergency services, energy, finance, food, government and public services, health, transport and water).

Survey and Latest Update

Two surveys (one for individuals and one for businesses), which closed in September 2015, collected information on Guernsey's current cyber security and the development of a comprehensive strategy for future cyber resilience. A statement  was made in February 2017 by the President of the Committee for Home Affairs, providing an update on progress since the survey.
