Les Voies School celebrated its most successful year ever at a special 'Oscars style' awards ceremony on Friday 23rd September.
Headteacher, Jonathan Furley, praised both students and staff for the school's achievements:
'It has been 3 years since we became a school and it gives me great pleasure and enormous pride to say that it has been our most successful year ever with our leavers achieving 151 externally verified qualifications between them including GCSE's, BTEC's, Duke of Edinburgh, John Muir, Prince's Trust, entry level and ABC awards.
'86% of our leavers achieved 5 or more A*- G this year and every student left with at least one qualification. For a school where students were leaving with no qualifications 3 years ago this is significant. It should not be underestimated the hard work that students and staff put in to make this happen,' said Mr Furley.
The overall number of externally verified qualifications this year totals 255.
'Throughout Les Voies, successes have taken place as far down as primary with students achieving cycling proficiency and passing AQA Entry level literacy and numeracy qualifications.
'We have also broadened our curriculum again this year to include Science, Personal Finance, Construction and Travel and Tourism BTEC's.
