With less than one month till the draw of the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery, we are pleased to announce that the First Prize has increased again to a total of £901,000.
Malcolm Woodhams from the Association of Guernsey Charities said,
"The Christmas Lottery draw is less than 3 weeks away and, once again, everybody is enthusiastically supporting the traditional draw, so the first prize jackpot is rising fast. Whilst everyone likes to hope that they'll win some money in time for Christmas, ultimately it's local good causes and projects which will benefit as all of the proceeds are distributed to charity. Last year's lottery raised over £219,000 which was distributed to 27 organisations to help with a variety of services, facilities, or community projects."
Lottery tickets are still widely available at shops, garages and many other outlets around the islands. Tickets cost £2 each, and incorporate 2 numbers for the lottery draw plus a scratch card with prizes up to £5000. Anyone arranging syndicates or wishing to by a block of tickets should contact Sport & Recreation Services on 709714, as buying a sealed block of 50 tickets will guarantee a minimum of £22 prizes on the scratch card.
As in previous years the guaranteed first prize will continue to rise as additional ticket sales volumes rise across the Channel Islands.
