One of the world's leading authorities on health and wellbeing in the workplace will be in Guernsey in early July to give a presentation on the benefits to an organisation, managers and their staff in developing a culture of organisational wellbeing.
Professor Sir Cary Cooper is the Professor of Organisational Psychology and Health at Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He is also the President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, President of the British Academy of Management and President of RELATE (the national relationship charity).
Attendees will hear the very latest evidence in the field of organisational wellbeing, will understand what is meant by wellbeing and the increasing concerns around so called "presenteeism" at work and how the culture and climate of an organisation and the line management style affects performance and productivity at work.
The presentation, which is free for those wanting to attend, has been organised in collaboration with Employment & Social Security, through its SOHWELL project (Supporting Occupational Health & Wellbeing) and the FitTogether initiative.
Professor Cooper will be joined by Dr Les Smith, Medical Adviser to Employment & Social Security. Dr Smith is a Member of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine UK, an accredited specialist and consultant in occupational medicine, a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (Royal College of Physicians Ireland), a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
The presentation will take place between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Friday 7th July at St Pierre Park Hotel.
