Thursday 18 July 2019

In June 2019, a team of inspectors from Terry Carr Consultancy Ltd visited Vauvert Primary School. During the visit, the inspectors talked to parents, carers and children and worked closely with the Headteacher and staff to gather evidence to evaluate the quality of leadership and management, learning and teaching, and children's successes and achievements.

During the visit, the inspection team found pupils to be polite, respectful and enthusiastic with a keen work ethic and 'can do' attitudes. They regularly demonstrated mature approaches and consideration for their own and others' learning and wellbeing.

Inspectors praised the leadership of the Headteacher, ably supported by the deputy Headteacher, describing his vision for ensuring that all children can achieve the best possible outcomes as under pinning the life and work of the school. This stems from highly effective leadership and management of sustainable school improvement through systematic and rigorous self-evaluation as well as close and very effective partnerships with children, parents, staff and partners.

Tim Walters, Headteacher of Vauvert Primary School, said;

"I am incredibly pleased with the report's findings. The inspection team recognised our school's many successes and achievements, evaluating Vauvert Primary School as Very Good. This is an excellent result and a true reflection of the hard work, commitment and professionalism of all our staff, the positive support of parents, and not forgetting, of course, our super pupils, who are a real credit to the school. "

The school's implementation of Growth Mindset along with teachers' high-quality, differentiated planning and varied approaches to learning and teaching, has positively impacted on the school ethos and the children's willingness to engage in learning, resulting in improved progress in literacy and numeracy.

There is a strong focus on wellbeing, equality and inclusion in the school. Through wide-ranging, flexible and responsive support strategies, children are engaged and make progress in their learning and access all areas of the curriculum.

Deputy Matt Fallaize, President of the Committee forEducation, Sport & Culture, said:

"I would like to thank Mr Walters and the staff of Vauvert Primary school for their commitment to the school and its pupils. Tim and his team have worked hard to provide students with a happy, inclusive and purposeful place to learn and I am confident the school will build on this to continue to improve education outcomes for the children. "

In summarising their findings, the inspectors were satisfied with the overall quality of provision and confident that the school's self-evaluation processes are leading to improvement. Their evaluations for Vauvert Primary School were 'very good' for all quality indicators.
