12 weeks to go until Electoral Roll closes for election

Friday 07 February 2020

With just 12 weeks to go until the closure of the new Electoral Roll, the Election 2020 Office has received approximately 22,000 submissions.

All eligible islanders are urged to return their household registration forms as soon as possible or to sign up online. Only those who are registered by 30 April 2020 will be able to vote in the June General Election.

Islanders are being advised that it does not matter if they were on the Electoral Roll for previous elections, they must sign up again to be able to vote.

David Mullins, Lead Election Officer, said:

"We know some people think they are already registered because they have voted in previous elections, but we need everyone to understand this is not the case. It's a brand new roll, information is not carried over from the previous roll, so everyone who wants to vote must register, either by sending us their household registration form or by going online to election2020.gg."

Anyone who has lost their form, or who believes they have not received one, should contact the Election 2020 Office on elections@gov.gg or by phoning 01481 747579.

The quickest and easiest way to register is online at www.election2020.gg where you can also opt for a postal vote. Online registrations also receive an immediate email response confirming successful registration and postal vote preferences.
