Count Me In: Electoral Roll now available for public inspection

Monday 02 March 2020

The Electoral Roll as of 26 February 2020 is now available for public inspection.

Anyone who wishes to check their entry on the roll can do so either at their parish office or one of a number of central locations.

There are now more than 23,000 Islanders listed on the new Electoral Roll which opened in December last year and which will stay open for new registrations until 30 April 2020. The roll is available for public inspection until 31 March 2020 at the Greffe, the Guille-Alles Library, Sir Charles Frossard House and Beau Sejour during normal opening hours. Each parish office will also hold a copy of the roll for that parish. Parish office opening hours can all be found on www.gov.gg on the parish contacts page. Electoral Roll registration forms and postal vote registration forms are also available from all of the above locations or by phoning the Election Office on 01481 747579.

Lead Election Officer, David Mullins says:

"We want everyone to check their own entry on the roll. There are still some people who think they are registered because they have voted before, but this is not the case and we wouldn't want them arriving at the polling station only to find they are not be able to vote. So it's really important everyone checks their entry by looking at the roll while it's available for public inspection and reports any mistakes, irregularities or omissions to the Election 2020 Office as soon as possible."

Anyone who wants to vote in the June General Election must be registered on this new Electoral Roll and is urged to check their entry by visiting one of the above locations. Having voted in a previous election does not mean you are automatically relisted on any new Electoral Roll. Islanders who want to vote in June must register on this new roll by 30 April 2020 and can do so online at www.election2020.gg or by filling in a household registration form.
