The Institute for Health & Social Care Studies offers training courses for nurses and other health professionals, fulfilling the needs of the Bailiwick.

The opportunity to train as a registered nurse and gain a degree awarded by Middlesex University is the starting point for many people career within the Guernsey Health Services. They are currently operating out of a purpose built facility at the PEH. Its courses are delivered by a team of highly skilled staff.

Through the partnership the Institute has with Middlesex University, Education has just re launched on-island teacher training. This will give learning support assistants the chance to get professional teaching qualifications, and unlike previous courses, will also be recognised in the UK.

The Institute is currently based in a facility at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, but under plans for the development of The Guernsey Institute, it will be moved into a purpose built unit at Les Ozouets.
