The new States Assembly & Constitution Committee has held its first formal Committee meeting and has elected Deputy Lester Queripel as Vice-President.
Deputy Carl Meerveld, President of the States Assembly & Constitution Committee, said:
'We had a positive first Committee meeting and I was very pleased colleagues supported Lester's election as Vice-President. Lester is known within the community as someone who cares deeply about the Bailiwick and its people, and I am certain he will make an excellent contribution to the important work of the Committee this term.'
Deputy Queripel said:
'I am absolutely delighted, and feel extremely privileged, to have been elected as Vice President of the States Assembly and Constitution Committee and I thank my colleagues on the committee for putting their faith in me. I will do my absolute utmost during my term of office to progress our priorities, which all seek to streamline and improve upon everything that falls under our mandate.'
