Deputy Carl Meerveld, President of the States Assembly & Constitution Committee, said:

'We had a positive first Committee meeting and I was very pleased colleagues supported Lester's election as Vice-President. Lester is known within the community as someone who cares deeply about the Bailiwick and its people, and I am certain he will make an excellent contribution to the important work of the Committee this term.'

Deputy Queripel said:

'I am absolutely delighted, and feel extremely privileged, to have been elected as Vice President of the States Assembly and Constitution Committee and I thank my colleagues on the committee for putting their faith in me.
