Tuesday 01 December 2020

The States of Guernsey would like to invite members of the public to 'Let's Take Time to Talk', a drop-in session at the Visitor Information Centre, North Esplanade on Saturday 12th December between 10am-12pm.

The event is a great opportunity to speak on a one-to-one basis with members of the Policy & Resources Committee.

The Committee is responsible for leadership and co-ordination of the work of the States including developing and promoting the States' overall policy objectives and leading the policy planning process. For anyone hoping to discuss their thoughts with the Committee members, they will be available to answer questions and discuss ideas.

All five Committee members will be available to speak to: Deputy Peter Ferbrache (President), Deputy Heidi Soulsby (Vice-President), Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq, Deputy Mark Helyar and Deputy David Mahoney.

Deputy Heidi Soulsby, Vice-President of the Policy & Resources Committee said:

"We'd like to invite people to pop in and have a chat. They can ask us about any issue relating to government. It's an open forum. As we begin a new political term we want to give members of the community as many opportunities as possible to engage with us and share their views. This is a new and informal setup for people to come and meet their deputies and take time to talk. If we see a good turnout, I'm hopeful it will be the first of many such events we'll hold this term.

As we are in the lead up to Christmas we wanted to hold the event somewhere convenient where you can drop-in for a warm drink and a mince pie while in Town for your Christmas shopping."
